On Easter Monday 24th April 1916, a small group of brave, determined men, women & children took on the might of the British empire, attempting to strike for Ireland’s freedom. We explore the historic city battlegrounds and sacred sights that still show the scars of battle over 100 years on and also visit the sacred resting place of the 14 martyrs where president Kennedy himself visited in 1963.

Dublin Rivera and Glendalough Tour

We take the scenic route bringing us South along Dublin bay as we navigate up through the exclusive Dublin Riviera, home to famous Irish musicians Bono & Enya. From there we head for the beautiful and serene ancient monastic city of Glendalough, The valley of the 2 lakes. Part of Wicklow national park, it was founded as the hermitage of St Kevin in the 6th century!

After we explore the iconic ruined churches with their very old and ornate gravestones, soaring Celtic crosses and 30 metres high round tower which has always been the beacon to guide travellers to Glendalough, take a stroll at your own pace down to Upper Lake which is picture perfect.

Then we can choose a local lunch stop for some food and drinks before heading back in a Dublin direction where upon we can stop at Powerscourt estate for an optional whiskey tasting as well as good local Irish design shopping too before we continue on back to the city.
